What’s New in Libby: Easily Discover Partner Libraries With New Libby Update

Looking for your next binge-worthy read? Thanks to the library partnerships, it’s easier than ever to discover even more ebooks and audiobooks through Libby. If your library has a virtual lending partnership with another library, that library will be automatically added to your Libby. A lending partnership allows library cardholders access to ebooks and audiobooks in Libby from an external library network when your library does not own them. Libraries in Michigan are a great example as they have widespread resource sharing! Michigan library patrons can now enjoy even more great reads with the automatic addition of partner libraries.

On the Libby menu page a patron with a Michigan Library card will see their home library displayed as “Your Library”, and all lending partnerships displayed as “Partner Libraries”.

The partner libraries will have their unique library cards displayed throughout Libby. Therefore when browsing in Libby, you’ll be able to identify where the ebook or audiobook is available from!

When searching for a specific title, tap Search in the footer. Libby will automatically check the availability of every search result at all partner libraries and will suggest the earliest available copy!

One library card, so many more possibilities!

Lending partnerships are optional and prescriptive connections between OverDrive library partners. Patrons might or might not see this feature available in your region. The most consistent way to access additional content from another library is to get a library card from that institution.
